Your privacy is our priority
We protect it with the utmost care. Learn how Wirelan SPA collects, uses and shares your information when you use Wirevet and its services.
Last updated: August 11, 2026 · Version 2.2
Courtesy translation. Wirevet is operated from Chile and this Privacy Policy is drafted under Chilean law (Law No. 19,628, as amended by Law No. 21,719). This English version is provided for convenience only: in the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails and is the legally binding text.
This Privacy Policy describes how Wirelan SPA and its affiliates (“Wirelan SPA”, “wirelan”, “we”) collect, use and share information during your use of our website (including wirevet.cl, wirelan.cl, wirevet.wirelan and all of their respective subdomains), services and applications (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the information our customers may process when using our Services.
This policy also applies in full to the WireVet Tutores mobile app for iOS and Android. The specifics of the app — device permissions, data stored on the phone and the absence of advertising tracking — are detailed in the Annex: WireVet Tutores mobile app, at the end of this document.
We may collect and receive information about the users of our Services (“users” or “you”) from various sources, including (i) information you provide through your user account for the Services (your “Account”) if you subscribe to the Services; (ii) your use of the Services; and (iii) from third-party websites, services and partners.
We recommend that you read this Privacy Policy in full to make sure you are fully informed. If you have any question about this Privacy Policy or about wirelan’s data collection, use and disclosure practices, please contact us at contacto@wirelan.cl.
Legal framework: Chilean Law No. 19,628 (Law No. 21,719)
The processing of personal data that we carry out is governed by Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Personal Data, modernized by Law No. 21,719, which comes fully into force on December 1, 2026 and creates the Personal Data Protection Agency. We process your data in accordance with the principles of lawfulness and fairness, purpose limitation, proportionality, quality, accountability, security, transparency and confidentiality.
In plain words
We only use your data for what we tell you, we protect it, and you are in charge: you can access it, correct it, delete it, object, or ask for a copy whenever you want.
Data controller
The controller of the personal data we collect through this site is:
- Legal name: Wirelan SPA
- Registered address: San Fernando, O'Higgins Region, Chile
- Contact channel and exercise of rights: contacto@wirelan.cl
When a clinic uses Wirevet to manage the data of its pet owners and patients, the clinic is the data controller and Wirelan SPA acts as processor or authorized third party (art. 15 bis of the law), processing that data solely in accordance with the clinic’s instructions and the services agreement.
Multi-clinic model and who to contact
Wirevet operates under a multi-clinic model: each pet owner’s data and their pets’ medical records are recorded and stored in the database of the veterinary clinic you choose, not in a single shared repository held by Wirelan SPA. Each clinic accesses only the data of its own patients and pet owners.
This does not mean your data is locked into a single clinic: you can request, from the app, that your pet-owner data and your pets’ data be copied to another clinic in the network. That transfer can only be started by you; it is not triggered by the clinic or by Wirelan SPA, and nothing is moved: the originating clinic keeps its copy. The details of what is copied, what is not, and who is responsible for the copy are in section 15.
Two distinct roles follow from this, and therefore two different recipients depending on the data in question:
- The veterinary clinic is the controller of the medical record. It decides on its content, provides the care and is required to retain it. If you want to access, rectify, obtain a copy of, or object to the processing of your pets’ medical record, you must contact the clinic that treats you.
- Wirelan SPA is the controller of your account and of the platform. For registration data, credentials, preferences and the operation of the app and the site, we are the controller. For that data, contact contacto@wirelan.cl.
With respect to the medical record, Wirelan SPA acts as processor: we process it on behalf of and under the instructions of the clinic, for the sole purpose of providing the platform, and we do not use it for our own purposes. If we receive a request that belongs to the clinic, we will tell you so and, where possible, forward it.
If you change clinics or are treated at more than one, your pet-owner data is recorded at the new practice so that care can be provided, but the medical record is not transferred between clinics: each practice keeps the record of the care it provided itself. If you need one clinic to share clinical history with another, you must request it directly from the originating clinic.
Your rights as a data subject
The law grants you the following rights over your personal data, free of charge, personal and non-waivable:
- Access: to know whether we process your data and obtain a copy of it, together with its origin, purpose and recipients.
- Rectification: to have us correct or complete data that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete.
- Erasure: to have us delete your data when it is no longer necessary, you withdraw your consent, or there is no other legal basis. This includes deleting your account, as detailed in section 8.
- Objection: to object to a specific processing operation, including direct marketing and profiling.
- Portability: to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, generic and commonly used electronic format, allowing automated reading and reuse; and to request that we transfer it directly to another controller of your choosing, where technically feasible.
- Blocking: to request the temporary suspension of any processing operation on your data, keeping it stored but unused, while a rectification, erasure or objection request is resolved, or while a dispute about its accuracy or lawfulness is pending.
These six rights —access, rectification, erasure (cancellation), objection, portability and blocking— are free, personal and non-waivable, and cannot be limited by contract. Remember that, for your pets’ medical record, the request must be addressed to the veterinary clinic, as explained in Data controller.
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contacto@wirelan.cl stating your name, the right you wish to exercise and the data involved. We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days of receiving it, extendable once as permitted by law.
If we reject your request or fail to respond in time, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Agency. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Automated decisions and profiling
Where we use automated processing that may significantly affect you, including profiling, we will inform you of the logic applied and its expected consequences. You have the right to object, to obtain an explanation, to request human intervention, to express your point of view and to ask for the decision to be reviewed.
Security incidents
We apply technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your data. In the event of a security breach affecting your personal data and posing a risk to your rights, we will report it to the Personal Data Protection Agency and, where applicable, notify you without undue delay, as required by law.
1. The information we collect
Information you provide
I. Account registration. When you register for an Account, we may ask for:
- Identification data: first and last name, and an identity document, which may be your RUT (Chilean national tax ID), your passport or your foreign identity document, depending on the type you select.
- Contact data: email address and phone number.
- Location data, when you choose to provide it: address, region, city and district. We use it to identify you within the clinic’s records, coordinate care and issue the applicable tax documents. It is optional and leaving it out does not prevent registration or care.
- Clinic data: the veterinary practice you select for your care and, if you are a business customer, your company name.
Your identity document is a unique national identifier, so we handle it with reinforced safeguards: we request it solely to identify you unambiguously within the clinic’s records, correctly associate visits with your pets and issue the applicable tax documents. We do not use it for advertising purposes or share it with third parties outside those purposes.
I bis. Your pets’ data. To provide the service we record data about the animals in your care: name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, weight, size, temperament and coat, plus any photograph you choose to upload.
I ter. Medical history. As part of veterinary care, your pets’ medical history is recorded, which may include consultations, vaccinations, surgeries, hospitalizations, lab tests, prescriptions, and grooming and boarding services. This history is stored in the database of the treating clinic, which is its controller, as explained in Data controller. While an animal’s medical history is not health data about you within the meaning of the law, we handle it to the same standard of confidentiality and access control that we apply to sensitive data.
If you choose to refer a friend to our Services, we may also collect your friend’s email address in order to send them a promotional code to subscribe to the Services.
II. Payment information. When you add financial information to your Account, that information is routed to the third-party payment processor. We do not store your financial information in our systems; however, we may access it through the third-party payment processor.
III. Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you choose to provide. We may also receive a confirmation when you open an email from us.
The information requested from you, and the reasons why you must provide it, will be made clear at the time it is requested.
Information we collect when you use our Services
I. Cookies and other tracking technologies (website). As with most websites, we automatically collect certain information and store it in log files. When you use our Services, we may automatically collect certain information from your device, which may include your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), entry and exit pages, operating system, time and date, landing page and referring URL. To collect this information, a Cookie may be set on your computer or device. Cookies contain a small amount of information that allows web servers to recognize you. The information described may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws.
II. Use of our Services. When you use our Services, we may collect information about your interaction and usage, as well as processing and memory usage, storage, navigation and other system-level metrics. We use this information to operate, maintain and improve the Services, develop new features, protect the security of the Services and our customers, and provide customer support.
Information we receive from third parties
I. Third-party accounts. If you decide to link our Services to a third-party provider, we may receive information from that provider, such as authentication tokens from the third-party account, in order to authorize the link. If you wish to limit the information available to us, you should visit the privacy settings of your third-party accounts.
2. How we use the information
We use the information we collect in several ways, including to:
- Provide, operate and maintain our Services.
- Improve, personalize and expand our Services.
- Understand and analyze how you use our Services.
- Develop new products, services, features and functionality.
- Communicate with you, directly or through our partners, to inform you about updates or other Service-related information, and for promotional and marketing purposes.
- Process your transactions.
- Send you text messages and push notifications.
- Detect and prevent fraud.
- For compliance purposes, including our Terms of Service, legal obligations, or as required by applicable laws and regulations.
3. How we share the information
We do not sell your personal data, nor do we share it with advertising networks, data brokers (data brokers) or third parties for targeted advertising. We share information only in the following cases:
- The veterinary clinic you select. Your registration data and your pets’ data are shared with the practice you choose, so that it can care for you, book your appointments and keep the medical record. Each clinic accesses only the data of its own pet owners and patients.
- The destination clinic, when you request the transfer of your data. If you request it from the app, we copy your pet-owner data, your pets’ data and their weight and measurement history to another clinic in the network. It only happens if you ask for it, and the medical record, the PDF documents and lab results, and the account balance are not copied. The details are in section 15.
- Service providers. We may share information with third parties that provide services on our behalf and under our instructions — hosting and infrastructure, transactional email delivery, push notification delivery and payment processing — limited to what is necessary for that service and subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Aggregated information. Where legally permitted, we may use and share information about users in aggregated or anonymized form, such that it cannot be used to identify you.
- Information we share when you register as a Referral. If you register as a friend’s referral, we may share this information with the person who referred you to let them know that you completed the registration.
- Analytics on the website. On our website we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect aggregated usage statistics. Google provides additional privacy options at google.com/policies/privacy/partners. This analytics does not apply to the mobile app: see the Annex at the end of this policy.
- Business transfers. Certain information may be transferred to any potential acquirer, successor or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, asset sale or similar transaction.
- As required by law. We may also share information to comply with any applicable law, enforce this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, detect or prevent fraud, and protect our rights, property or safety, and those of our users and the public.
- With your consent. We may share information with your consent.
4. Legal bases for processing personal information
Every processing operation we carry out relies on a specific lawful basis , in accordance with article 12 of the law. Below we set out that basis for each purpose:
- Creating and administering your account; booking and managing your appointments; letting you view your pets’ records. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party (the Terms and Conditions of Service). Without this data we cannot provide the service.
- Recording veterinary care and maintaining the medical record. Legal basis: performance of the contract between the clinic and the pet owner, and compliance with a legal duty of the clinic to keep and retain a record of the care provided. The controller is the clinic.
- Issuing receipts, invoices and other tax documents. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Chilean tax regulations).
- Sending you operational notices: booking confirmations, rescheduling, cancellations and appointment reminders. Legal basis: performance of the contract. These are transactional, not promotional, communications, and you cannot turn them off without giving up the service; you can, however, choose the channel (email or push notification).
- Sending you commercial communications, promotions and product news. Legal basis: your consent, given freely, specifically and on an informed basis, and revocable at any time at no cost from the unsubscribe link in each email or by writing to us.
- Platform security, fraud and abuse prevention, access logs and auditing. Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the Service, our users and the clinics, balanced so that it does not disproportionately affect your rights.
- Aggregated usage statistics and product improvement. Legal basis: legitimate interest, processing the information in aggregated or anonymized form wherever possible. On the website, analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary are enabled with your consent through the cookie banner.
- Handling your queries and support requests. Legal basis: performance of the contract or pre-contractual measures taken at your request.
- Responding to requests from authorities and bringing or defending claims. Legal basis: compliance with a legal duty and legitimate interest.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you have the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation, and we will assess your objection case by case.
5. Third-party services
You may be able to access third-party services through the Services, for example by clicking hyperlinks within the Service. We are not responsible for the privacy policy and/or practices of those third-party services, and we recommend that you review their privacy policies carefully.
6. Security
wirelan is committed to protecting your information. To that end, we employ a range of security technologies and measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. The measures we use are designed to deliver a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information. However, please bear in mind that the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
7. Data retention
We keep your data only for as long as there is a purpose that justifies it or a legal obligation that requires it. We apply the following periods and criteria:
- Account data (identification, contact details, credentials, preferences): for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, it is erased when the grace period of 30 days described in section 8 expires.
- Medical record and care history: kept by the veterinary clinic, which is its controller, for as long as the care relationship lasts and, at minimum, 5 years from the last service, a period aligned with the limitation period for liability claims. The clinic may set a longer period where a regulation requires it.
- Tax documents (receipts, invoices, credit notes) and their supporting records: 6 years, in accordance with the limitation period and the retention duty under Chilean tax regulations. These documents are not anonymized, because the law requires them to show the identification of the issuer and the recipient.
- Access, security and audit logs (IP addresses, timestamps, sign-in events): we do not currently apply an automatic age-based purge, so these logs are retained for as long as the system is operational. We keep them with restricted access and use them solely to investigate security incidents, resolve disputes and establish who accessed what information. We are working on setting a maximum retention period; once implemented we will state it in this policy.
- Support communications and correspondence with you: 24 months from the closure of the request.
- Website contact forms and sales leads: 24 months from the last contact, or until you request deletion.
- Consent for commercial communications and its proof record: until you withdraw it and, after withdrawal, 3 years solely as evidence that the withdrawal was honored.
- Website cookies and analytics: according to the period stated in our cookie banner; Google Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months.
- Backups: deleted data may remain present in backups until they are overwritten according to the rotation cycle of our infrastructure provider, which manages them. During that period the data is isolated from all processing and is used only to restore the system in a contingency.
Once the applicable period expires, we delete the information or anonymize it irreversibly. Where immediate deletion is not technically possible, we will store it securely and isolated from any processing until such deletion becomes possible.
If you delete your account, the periods and procedure described in section 8. Deleting your account.
8. Deleting your account
You can request the deletion of your account at any time and free of charge, directly from the mobile app WireVet Tutores (section Account → Delete my account) or by writing to us at contacto@wirelan.cl. You do not need to justify your decision.
You can also do it without signing in from our page Delete your account, where you will find the step-by-step procedure and details of what happens to each type of data.
Scope: deletion is per clinic
In WireVet your pet-owner record belongs to each veterinary clinic separately: there is no single account shared across clinics, but an independent record at each practice where you receive care. For that reason, when you delete your account only the account at the clinic you signed in with is deleted.
If the same email address is registered at other clinics, those accounts remain active and their data is unaffected: you must request their deletion separately, by signing in to each of them or writing to us at contacto@wirelan.cl stating the clinics involved.
What happens immediately
When you confirm the request, your account becomes immediately inaccessible: we sign you out on all devices, revoke all associated access credentials and deregister push notifications. From that moment on it is no longer possible to sign in or use the app with that account.
30-day grace period
Your account remains for 30 calendar days in a pending deletion state before permanent erasure. This period exists to protect you against accidental or unwanted deletions and to allow outstanding obligations with your clinic to be completed.
During those 30 days the request is reversible. You can cancel it:
- From the app itself, by re-authenticating with a verification code sent to your email address on file; or
- By contacting your veterinary clinic directly or writing to contacto@wirelan.cl.
When we receive your request we will send you a confirmation email stating the exact date on which the deletion becomes permanent, and instructions to cancel it within that period.
What is deleted, what is anonymized and what is kept
After 30 days, an automated process carries out the permanent erasure in the records of the clinic you signed in with. From that moment the operation is irreversible. Treatment differs depending on the type of data:
- Permanently deleted: your access credentials (password, PIN and authentication data), all sessions and tokens associated with the account, the notification tokens from your devices, your contact details (email address, phone, address) and your app usage preferences.
- Kept in anonymized form: the pets’ medical record. The veterinary clinic is legally required to keep the record of the care it provided, so the record is not destroyed; instead, it is dissociated from your identity, removing the data that links it to you. The clinical record survives as a medical and statistical record, but ceases to be personal data about you.
- Kept unchanged: the tax documents (receipts, invoices and credit notes) and their supporting records, for the legal period of 6 years. These documents cannot be anonymized, because tax regulations require them to show the identification of the parties. They are isolated from any other processing and used only to comply with that legal obligation.
Information present in backups is deleted when they are overwritten, according to the rotation cycle of our infrastructure provider.
In plain words
Your account is deleted at the clinic you signed in with; if you are treated at other clinics with the same email, those accounts stay active and you have to request them separately. You lose access immediately. You have 30 days to recover it; after that your pet-owner data is erased permanently. Your pets’ medical record is kept by the clinic in anonymized form, because it is legally required to do so.
9. Access
If you are a registered user, you may have access to certain information associated with your Account when you access our Services. If you delete your Account, the procedure described in section 8 applies; notwithstanding this, records we are required to keep by legal or contractual obligation will remain securely stored for the periods required by law.
To protect your privacy and security, we may take a number of reasonable steps to verify your identity before updating or deleting your information. Your ability to access and correct your information may be temporarily limited where doing so would impair wirelan’s ability to comply with legal obligations, investigate or defend claims, result in the disclosure of a third party’s information, or breach a contract or trade secrets.
10. Your choices
You can use some of the features of the services without registering, thereby limiting the type of information we can collect.
You can unsubscribe from certain promotional emails by following the instructions at the foot of the email. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still contact you for informational, transactional or Account-related purposes.
Many browsers offer the option to disable cookies. If you choose not to accept cookies, some features and the personalization of our Services may stop working for you.
11. Children’s and adolescents’ privacy
Our Services are aimed at clinics and professionals, not at minors, and we do not knowingly collect data about children or adolescents through this site. Under the law, the processing of data about children (under 14) requires the consent of their parents or legal guardians, always with regard to their best interests; sensitive data about adolescents under 16 has the same reinforced protection. If you become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, let us know at contacto@wirelan.cl so that we can delete it.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be amended over time, so we suggest that you review it frequently. Changes will be published on our website. If we make changes to the way we use or share previously collected personal information, we will notify you through our Services, by email or by other means of communication.
13. International data transfers
We may transfer personal information to countries other than Chile (for example, through cloud or analytics technology providers). When we do, it will only be to countries offering an adequate level of protection, or on the basis of appropriate safeguards — such as contractual clauses or other instruments approved by the Personal Data Protection Agency — in accordance with articles 27 and 28 of the law, ensuring that your data retains protection equivalent to that which it receives in Chile.
14. Annex: WireVet Tutores mobile app
This annex supplements the policy above and describes the data processing specific to the WireVet Tutoresapp, available for iOS and Android. Everything stated in sections 1 to 13 and in section 15 applies to it; what follows details the device permissions and the data the app stores locally.
In plain words
The app does not track you or show ads. The permissions it asks for (location, camera, Face ID, notifications) are optional, are used only while you are using it, and you can decline them: the app will keep working.
14.1 No tracking and no advertising
The app does not carry out tracking (tracking) as Apple defines it: it does not collect data to link it with third-party data for advertising or measurement purposes, and it does not share information with data brokers. Specifically, the app:
- Does not embed any third-party analytics or advertising SDK .
- Does not access the device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android) or equivalent tracking identifiers.
- Does not display ads or build advertising profiles.
- Does not track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
For the above reasons, the app does not request the app-tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). The web analytics mentioned in section 3 — Google Analytics — operates only on the wirevet.cl website and is not present in the mobile app. Likewise, the cookies described in section 1 relate to the website and not to the app.
14.2 Location (GPS)
The app may request access to your location for the sole purpose of showing you the nearest veterinary clinic and sorting the list of practices by distance.
- It is used only while the app is open and in use (the “while using the app” permission).
- Your location is processed exclusively on your device to calculate distances. It is not sent to our servers, not stored and not shared with third parties.
- The app never accesses your location in the background , does not record your movements and does not build a location history.
- The permission is optional: if you decline it, the app works normally and you can select the clinic manually from the list.
A note about the permissions shown by the system. Because of the way the app is built, the operating system may list background location permissions (“always”) and motion sensors. These are declarations automatically included by the location component we use, not features of the app: WireVet Tutores requests and uses location only while the app is in use, and does not access your device’s motion sensors for any purpose.
14.3 Camera and photos
The app may request access to the camera, your photo gallery and, on Android, to device storage — a permission used by the system file and image picker — only when you initiate the action, for two specific purposes:
- Your pet’s profile photo, which you choose to upload voluntarily.
- Photographing the medical order issued by the veterinarian when requesting lab tests, in order to attach it to the request.
The app does not access your camera roll or the camera in the background, does not scan your gallery and does not upload any image you have not expressly selected. The images you upload are stored linked to your pet’s record in the clinic’s database. Both permissions are optional and can be revoked from the operating system settings.
14.4 Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint) and PIN
The app offers, as an optionalfeature, locking via biometrics or a backup PIN, so that nobody else can open it from your phone.
- The app does not collect, store or transmit biometric data. We have no access to your fingerprint or your face in any form.
- Biometric verification is performed entirely by your device’s operating system, within its secure hardware environment. The app only receives from the system a yes-or-no response as to whether verification succeeded.
- The backup PIN is stored exclusively on your device and is never sent to our servers. In the mobile app it is saved in the operating system’s secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore), protected by the device encryption.
- If you access Wirevet from a web browser, the lock PIN is saved in the browser’s local storage, which offers a lower level of protection than the mobile app’s secure storage. We therefore recommend that you do not enable this feature on shared or public computers.
- You can disable this feature at any time from the app settings. If you decline it, the app works normally.
14.5 Push notifications
If you agree to receive notifications, we register a notification token associated with your device, issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) services. We use it solely to notify you about bookings, confirmations, rescheduling, cancellations and reminders for your appointments.
- The token identifies the device, not you personally, and is deregistered automatically when you sign out. Deregistering the tokens associated with your account is also part of the account deletion process described in section 8 expires.
- Notifications are not used for advertising purposes.
- The permission is optional: if you decline them, you will receive exactly the same notices by email. You can revoke it whenever you want from the operating system settings. On Android 13 and later, the system will ask for this permission explicitly.
14.6 Data stored on your phone
For the app to work, the following information is stored locally on your device:
- Session tokens (access and refresh), which keep you signed in without re-entering your password.
- The selected veterinary clinic.
- Usage preferences for the app.
- The lock PIN, encrypted, if you enabled that feature.
The session tokens and the PIN are saved in the operating system’s secure storage. All of this information is deleted from your device when you sign out or uninstall the app.
14.7 Deleting your account from the app
You can delete your account directly from the app, under Account → Delete my account, without needing to contact us. The procedure, the 30-day grace period and the details of what is deleted, anonymized and kept are described in section 8 of this policy.
14.8 Transferring your data to another clinic from the app
From the app you can request that your data and your pets’ data be copied to another veterinary clinic in the network, without needing to contact us. The request can only be started by you, from your own session, and when you confirm it we record your consent along with the date and time, the IP address and the device or app identifier (user-agent) from which you authorized it. The details of what is copied, what is not, what happens with deceased or hospitalized pets, and who becomes the controller of the copy are described in section 15 of this policy.
15. Transferring your data to another clinic
If you decide to be treated at another veterinary clinic in the WireVet network, you can ask from the app WireVet Tutores that your data and your pets’ data be copied to that new practice, so you do not have to register everything again. Below we explain exactly how it works.
Who can start it
The transfer is requested only by you, from your own session in the app. It cannot be started by the originating clinic, the destination clinic or Wirelan SPA. The legal basis for the processing is your consent, which we record along with the date and time, the IP address and the device or app identifier (user-agent) from which you authorized it, so that we can evidence that the request was yours, in accordance with Law No. 21,719.
It is copied, not moved
The transfer is a copy, not a move. The originating clinic keeps in full your data, your pets’ medical record and your account, which remains active and operational. After the transfer you are registered at both clinics and can continue to be treated at either. Nothing is deleted at the originating clinic as a result of the transfer.
What is copied
- Your pet-owner data: the identification and contact details you are registered with.
- Your pets and the data for each of them (name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, color, microchip and other identification data).
- The weight and measurement history for each pet.
What is not copied
- The medical record: consultations, surgeries, vaccinations and hospitalizations are not transferred. Each clinic keeps the record of the care it provided itself, because it is answerable for it and legally required to retain it.
- The PDF documents and lab results uploaded to the record are not transferred either.
- The account balance and payments are not transferred: the payment status belongs to the commercial relationship with each clinic separately.
If you need the destination clinic to know your pet’s clinical history, you must request it directly from the originating clinic, as explained in Data controller.
Pets that are not transferred
- Deceased pets: are not transferred. Their record stays at the clinic where they were treated, which is responsible for keeping it.
- Pets that are hospitalized or undergoing surgery: are not transferred for as long as that situation lasts, so as not to fragment the information during an active clinical process. Once it is over, you can request the transfer of that pet again.
Who is responsible for the copy received
From the moment it receives the copy, the destination clinic becomes the controller of that data, on the same terms as any other clinic in the network and as described in Data controller. To exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability or blocking over the data it holds, you must contact that clinic.
Bear in mind that, as explained in section 8, account deletion is per clinic: deleting your account at one of them does not delete the copy held by the other, and you must request it separately.
In plain words
If you are going to be treated at another clinic in the network, you can ask from the app for your data to be copied there. You ask for it and nobody else, and it is logged with the date, IP and device. It is a copy: at your usual clinic everything stays the same and you remain active at both. What travels is your pet-owner data, your pets and their weight history; what does not travel is the medical record, the PDF lab results or the account balance. Deceased pets are not transferred, and neither are hospitalized pets or those in surgery while that lasts. From the moment it receives the copy, the new clinic is responsible for it.
